The second piece in the Fragments of Wakefield series explores another section of the Wakefield landscape through colour, texture and shape. I’ve used the structure of the original map as a starting point, but allowed the painted layers to become much more expressive and imperfect. Rich greens, ochres and flashes of red create a landscape that feels almost geological, with the white pathways holding the fragments together.
